Joe Simes has done those of us in the seacoast area who love to listen to and play folk music a great service by providing the ideal venue. The audience he attracts is a performer’s dream- attentive, knowledgeable, supportive (and, apparently and thankfully, forgiving!). Ken Perlman has taken the clawhammer banjo style to amazing and delightful heights, and his uniquely melodic approach provides this guitar player with a fine opportunity for rolling DADGAD and chunky arch-top back-up. It was great fun for me, and I was honored that so many of you came to listen. I’m grateful to have found a home in this community, and am looking forward to years of music-making with you all.
